How this site handles your information.
Schwimmflugel is a one-person engineering practice. This page describes what data the site collects, why, and how to reach me if you want any of it changed or deleted.
What this site collects
Contact details and site-usage measurements.
This site uses Google Analytics through MonsterInsights to measure page views, traffic sources, and form conversions. Google Analytics can set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Jetpack may also make measurement requests to Automattic’s analytics endpoints. These tools are used to understand which pages and projects are useful; they are not used for advertising, retargeting, or selling visitor profiles.
If you fill in the contact form, WPForms presents the name, email address, and message fields. WordPress stores a private delivery record and sends the submission to my email inbox so I can reply. Contact records are automatically deleted after 180 days. Analytics may record the form impression and successful submission, but the name, email address, and message body are not sent to Google Analytics.
Why
The contact form exists so you can reach me without signing up to anything.
The form gives hiring teams, clients, and readers a direct way to start a conversation about engineering work. There is no newsletter, drip campaign, CRM scoring, or retargeting list. WordPress sends an email notification with a Reply-To address so I can answer you and keeps a private delivery-status record for up to 180 days.
I do not sell or rent contact details. Contact submissions are processed by WordPress, WPForms, Bluehost, and the email systems required to deliver the notification. Analytics measurements are processed by Google and Automattic as described above.
Your rights
Ask me to change or delete anything I’ve stored about you.
You can request a copy of personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it by emailing [email protected]. There is no public account or customer-profile system on this site.
Analytics-cookie choices can be changed with the “Analytics settings” control in the footer. You may also use browser privacy controls or contact the appropriate data-protection authority for your location.
Hosting and infrastructure
What runs behind the page.
Hosting is provided by Bluehost. Standard webserver logs can include the date and time, requested URL, response code, IP address, user agent, and referring URL. The site also uses WPForms, Google Analytics/MonsterInsights, Jetpack/Automattic, and Google’s hosted webfonts. Loading a Google Font sends a request to Google that includes normal connection information such as an IP address and browser user agent.
Theme and page content are maintained in private source control. The repository does not contain contact-form submissions, email, analytics reports, or other visitor records.
Changes to this page
Material changes will be dated at the top.
If the data-handling practice changes in a way that affects what this site collects or who it’s shared with, the change will be reflected here with an updated revision date and a short note about what changed. Routine housekeeping (clarifying wording, fixing typos, adding a paragraph about a new third-party endpoint) does not constitute a material change.
Get in touch
Privacy questions, data requests, or just a hello.
If anything on this page is unclear, or you’d like a copy of any personal data I hold, the contact form routes directly to me.
